Specialized Educational Intervenor – East & South Region

About the role

The York Catholic District School Board seeks a Permanent Specialized Educational Intervenor (SEI) to support students with moderate to severe safety and physical needs across its East and South schools. Working under the school principal, the SEI will implement Individual Education Plans, promote student independence, and ensure a safe learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with school staff and multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor Individual Education Plans.
• Provide direct, one‑on‑one support to K‑12 students during instructional and non‑instructional periods.
• Coach, model, and reinforce safety‑related skills and accommodations.
• Collect and share data on student progress and response to interventions.
• Assist students in accessing curriculum and participating safely in school activities.

Required profile

• Experience working with students who have special education needs, particularly safety‑related challenges.
• Strong understanding of individualized education planning and inclusive education practices.
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple school sites in the East and South region.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Proficiency in documenting student progress and reporting to multidisciplinary teams.
