Store Keeper - Hotel
Brites Management Services · Maasai Mara
Job description
About the role
Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Store Keeper in Maasai Mara to manage and control the hotel's stores and inventory. The role ensures that stock is properly received, recorded, stored, issued and monitored so that supplies stay adequate while wastage, losses and stock discrepancies are kept to a minimum.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and verify incoming goods against purchase orders, delivery notes and invoices, ensuring quantity, quality and specifications are met.
- Store and arrange stock so it is easy to identify and access, and issue it to authorised departments on approved requisitions.
- Maintain accurate records of all stock received, issued, transferred and returned, and monitor stock levels to spot items needing replenishment.
- Carry out regular stock counts, reconcile physical stock with system records, and investigate and report variances, losses, damages or discrepancies.
- Apply stock rotation practices, especially for perishable and date-sensitive items, and watch expiry dates and slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Keep hotel stores (food, beverages, housekeeping, maintenance, stationery) organised, clean, secure, labelled and in good condition, with suitable storage conditions for each category.
- Coordinate with procurement and relevant departments for timely supply availability, and flag unusual consumption patterns to management.
- Maintain inventory records in the hotel's inventory management system, update them after every receipt or issue, prepare stock reports and summaries, and file delivery notes, requisitions, invoices and stock sheets.
- Assist with periodic and month-end stocktaking, and follow hotel procedures for purchasing, receiving, storage and issuance.
- Prevent unauthorised access to stores, safeguard company stock and report suspected loss, theft or misuse immediately, and comply with health, safety, hygiene and food-storage requirements where applicable.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Stores Management, Procurement, Logistics or a related field.
- At least 2 years' experience in storekeeping, inventory management or a similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Experience handling multiple categories of hotel supplies is an added advantage.
Required skills
- Proficiency in inventory management software and basic office applications.
- Good knowledge of stock control, receiving, issuing, stocktaking and record-keeping.
