Strategy Development Consultant – Child Protection (Remote)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Strategy Development Consultant to lead a participatory process for the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (the Alliance). The consultant will work remotely over a 4.5‑month period to design and facilitate the development of a new strategic plan for 2027‑2026, ensuring it reflects evolving humanitarian challenges and the needs of child protection actors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and facilitate a highly participatory strategy development process for the Alliance.
• Conduct consultations with Alliance members, partners, and sector stakeholders to assess emerging needs, opportunities and challenges.
• Synthesize findings into a comprehensive strategic brief and detailed strategic plan covering 2027‑2026.
• Provide guidance on implementation pathways, monitoring frameworks and resource mobilization strategies.
• Produce clear documentation and presentations for senior Alliance leadership and UNICEF.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic planning, preferably in humanitarian or child protection contexts.
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent analytical and report‑writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality outputs within tight timelines.
