Student Recruitment Officer – Parklands

About the role

The Student Recruitment Officer will represent Mount Kenya University in outreach activities, engaging prospective students and their families to promote the university’s programmes. This full‑time position is based in the Parklands area and reports to the Deputy Director of Finance, Administration & Marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Visit potential clients, schools and community groups to present MKU’s offerings.
• Develop, coordinate and deliver outreach programmes, campus tours and marketing campaigns for prospective students and parents.
• Serve as the primary contact for internal coordination of student recruitment and enrollment processes.
• Create and distribute promotional materials, information packages and resource kits.
• Prepare reports, proposals and respond to inquiries related to recruitment and outreach.
• Design mentorship programmes and analyse recruitment and retention trends.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by departmental heads.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication or a related field (or Higher National Diploma with equivalent experience).
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a comparable role or Grade 9 within MKU; alternatively, five (5) years of relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to engage diverse audiences.
