Sulfonation Workshop Supervisor

About the role

Kleesoft Company is hiring a Sulfonation Workshop Supervisor (ref. MJ002594) to manage production and process operations in a sulfonation unit that makes LAS products. The role covers process execution, quality control, safety, equipment maintenance, environmental compliance and team management.

Key responsibilities

• Run gas-phase and membrane sulfonation and other processes, monitoring SO3 concentration, reaction temperature and other parameters to keep LAS output stable, and optimise the process (e.g. lower free acid, better raw material use) and write operating instructions.
• Supervise in-process analysis (active substance content, pH, sodium chloride) so sulfonic acid and neutralised products meet washing powder formula requirements, and work with quality inspection to trace unqualified products.
• Enforce hazardous chemicals rules (protective clothing, gas masks, ventilation and eyewash stations), run equipment inspections and drills, prepare contingency plans for SO3 leaks and chemical fires, and implement 6S management.
• Plan lubrication and inspection for reactors and SO3 generators, coordinate repairs and troubleshooting, and maintain exhaust gas absorption towers and neutralisation systems.
• Control SO2/SO3 emissions, classify and store waste acids and wastewater, and cooperate with environmental monitoring.
• Manage the team: schedule, train on process and safety, appraise performance, brief on tasks and risks before each shift, and keep the site clean with 6S.

Required profile

• Degree or Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Process Technology or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in sulfonation operations, preferably in LABSA or detergent manufacturing.
• Completed occupational health and safety training.
• Valid medical fitness certificate and Certificate of Good Conduct may be required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of chemical handling, process safety, emergency response and safe operating procedures.
• Experience with sulfonation processes and detergent manufacturing.
