Teacher – Gender-Transformative Education

About the role

Kaziweza Limited’s Flying Kites Academy is seeking a dedicated Teacher to deliver a holistic, gender‑transformative learning experience for both boys and girls in Westlands, Kenya. The role focuses on fostering an inclusive environment where every child can develop skills, confidence and a sense of safety.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑impact instruction aligned with the Competency‑Based Education (CBE) curriculum.
• Implement Gender‑Transformative Education (GTE) strategies to promote equity in the classroom.
• Design lesson plans, projects and teaching aids that meet curriculum standards and address diverse learning styles.
• Apply positive discipline techniques, set behavioural expectations and act as the trusted adult for student safeguarding.
• Develop, administer and grade assessments, using data to provide feedback and adjust instruction.
• Support the physical, social and emotional well‑being of students, acting as mentor and first responder to their needs.

Required profile

• Mid‑level teaching qualification with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Commitment to gender equity and child protection principles.
• Ability to create a safe, respectful and inclusive classroom environment.
• Strong communication skills and capacity to mentor students.
