TeleRadiologist (Virtual)

About the role

Career Directions Limited is recruiting, on behalf of its client, a full-time TeleRadiologist based in Nairobi who works virtually. The role covers the remote interpretation and reporting of diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography and fluoroscopy, with close collaboration with referring clinicians.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinically appropriate assessment, interpretation and reporting of imaging studies following clinical guidelines and best practice.
• Report digital X-rays, CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography and fluoroscopy, including emergency cases within required turnaround times.
• Offer consultation to referring clinicians during working hours and scheduled on-call periods.
• Take part in MDT discussions, clinical case reviews, departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• Work with the Head of Department to manage workloads and maintain high-quality reports within agreed turnaround times.
• Use PACS, RIS, EMR and other hospital information systems; conduct research and publish where applicable.
• Take part in peer review, quality assurance and continuous medical education, and uphold patient confidentiality and professional standards.

Required profile

• MBChB or equivalent recognized by the KMPDC, and MMed in Radiology and Imaging or equivalent.
• Registered with the KMPDC, specialist recognition, valid practising licence and professional medical indemnity insurance.
• At least 5 years of post-specialization experience as a practicing radiologist in a busy hospital or imaging centre.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography and digital X-ray; teleradiology experience is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Excellent diagnostic skills, strong report writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency in PACS, RIS and EMR systems and teleradiology platforms.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and meet turnaround times.
• BLS certification is an added advantage.
