Temporary Specialized Educational Intervenor (CUPE 2331) – North & West

About the role

The York Catholic District School Board is seeking a Temporary Specialized Educational Intervenor (SEI) to provide safety‑focused support to students with moderate to severe needs across its North and West schools. This itinerant, 10‑month assignment works under the direction of the school principal and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for K‑12 students with special safety or physical needs.
• Provide direct classroom and school‑wide support to promote student independence and safety.
• Collect and share data on student response to interventions with teachers and support staff.
• Adapt interventions based on ongoing assessment and feedback.
• Travel to assigned schools within the designated geographic area as required.

Required profile

• Relevant experience working with students who have moderate to severe special needs.
• Ability to follow direction from the school principal and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to work an itinerant schedule across multiple school sites.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to student safety protocols.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Individual Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation.
• Understanding of safety‑related interventions for students with physical or behavioral challenges.
