Tooling Technician

About the role

Burn is seeking a Tooling Technician to maintain, repair and manufacture sheet‑metal stamping tools, jigs and fixtures that keep production lines running smoothly. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving tooling performance and ensuring all activities meet high safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain sheet‑metal stamping tools, jigs and assembly fixtures.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and respond to breakdowns at the press.
• Diagnose faults, report root causes and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.
• Maintain tooling inventory, identify spare part requirements and update the Tool Room database.
• Manufacture new press tooling, jigs and fixtures to support production demands.
• Take ownership of a defined tool suite, monitoring performance with minimal supervision.
• Apply 5S methodology to keep the workshop organized and clean.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience operating mechanical workshop machines such as lathes, milling machines and surface grinders.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, materials and sheet‑metal tool manufacturing.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a mechanical aptitude.
• Well‑organized, team‑oriented and able to work independently on assigned tool sets.
