Trade Finance Specialist

About the role

ABSA is seeking a Trade Finance Specialist to drive its Transaction Banking (TB) strategy within Business Banking. The role combines senior client interaction, sales leadership and risk‑aware execution to grow TB revenue across commercial banking clients.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver TB revenue targets for Business Banking clients, allocating 50% of time to sales activities.
• Develop and execute a sales strategy that expands the client portfolio and cross‑sells ABSA’s product suite.
• Lead a sales team to meet quantitative and qualitative performance goals, using account planning and pipeline management.
• Maintain deep knowledge of ABSA’s product capabilities and apply them to client solutions.
• Coordinate with Customer Support, product development, and operations to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Drive alignment with TB teams across geographies and represent ABSA at client insight events and industry forums.
• Ensure world‑class customer service standards and operational rigor, achieving 100% compliance and minimizing fraud risk.
