Transport Manager - Funeral Services

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Transport Manager in Nairobi's funeral services industry. The role covers fleet and operations management, driver supervision and compliance, with a salary of KSh 40,000.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all vehicle movements for removals, funerals, transfers, repatriations, errands and branch support, ensuring timely dispatch and return.
• Monitor daily schedules, prioritising urgent calls, hospital removals, airport pickups and inter-county transfers.
• Keep vehicles clean, fuelled, serviced and mechanically sound, and maintain vehicle logs, fuel records and mileage reports.
• Supervise day and night-shift drivers, enforce fuel, speed, route and client-handling policies, and run briefings on customer service and safety.
• Handle misconduct, lateness and absenteeism, escalating to HR when needed.
• Ensure vehicles meet legal requirements (insurance, inspection, licensing) and coordinate repairs, servicing and tyre changes with mechanics.
• Spot-check logbooks, speed, fuel consumption and GPS movement, follow accident reporting procedures and help with investigations.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on operations, fuel, driver performance and vehicle condition, and keep records of funeral allocations, removals and client feedback.

Required profile

• Diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in fleet management or transport supervision.
• Experience managing drivers, especially in fast-paced or sensitive environments.
• Valid Kenyan Class B driving licence preferred; a valid BCE licence with a clean record is an added advantage.
