About the role
The Underwriter will support the Underwriting Manager in operational tasks within the Underwriting Department, assisting in risk evaluation and policy processing according to established guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Attend to customer and intermediary inquiries and reconcile client accounts.
- Process policy documents for new business, issue renewal notices, endorsements, motor, marine certificates, and yellow cards.
- Follow up on renewals, assist in loss ratio reporting, and review account performance.
- Provide required documents to the claims department within prescribed TATs and ensure retention of existing accounts.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Commerce (Insurance option) or related business degree from a reputable university.
- At least one year of experience in a busy underwriting department.
- Progress in Insurance Professional Qualification is desirable.
Required skills
- Knowledge of underwriting guidelines and insurance policies.
- Ability to process policy documents and manage account reconciliations.
