Volunteer Technical Recruiter (Remote)

About the role
We are looking for a passionate Volunteer Technical Recruiter to help build a world‑class team of technology volunteers for Black Mental Health Matters. Working remotely, you will partner with engineering and leadership to attract skilled volunteers who will develop our digital mental‑health platform and related tools.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and executive leaders to define volunteer staffing needs.
- Source and attract candidates for technical volunteer roles such as full‑stack, front‑end, back‑end, mobile, AI/ML, data, DevOps, cybersecurity, QA and more.
- Publish opportunities on LinkedIn, GitHub, university portals and volunteer platforms.
- Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews and coordinate follow‑up interviews with project leads.
- Maintain an organized candidate pipeline and recruitment database.
- Build relationships with universities, coding bootcamps and tech communities.
- Champion diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the recruitment process.
- Support onboarding and orientation of new volunteers.
Required profile
- Experience in recruiting, talent acquisition or volunteer management.
- Basic understanding of software development roles and technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
Required skills
- Familiarity with sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of technical stacks including React.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, Express.js, React Native, Flutter.
- Understanding of AI/ML, data engineering, cloud, DevOps, cybersecurity and QA/testing concepts.
