Warehouse Controller - Special Economic Zone (SEZ)

About the role

Africa Global Logistics is recruiting a Warehouse Controller for its Special Economic Zone (SEZ) unit, based in Nairobi and reporting to the General Manager-SEZ. The role manages day-to-day warehouse operations, keeping them efficient, compliant and cost-effective, with close coordination with customs, SEZA and internal teams. On-site work is required.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and control warehouse operations: inbound receipt, storage, processing and outbound dispatch, with optimal space use and material handling efficiency.
• Maintain accurate stock records and timely system updates, and oversee kitting, re-packing, labelling, cannibalisation, assembly/disassembly and other value-added processes.
• Ensure inbound and outbound movements comply with SEZ and customs regulations, liaise with SEZA, KRA Customs and other agencies, and process Inbound, Transfer, Processing and Outbound bonds accurately.
• Keep auditable documentation trails for all SEZ operations and for value-added activities in line with KRA regulations.
• Control inventory in real time via the SPEED WMS, run regular stock counts and reconciliations, and segregate and tag client inventory for traceability.
• Enforce HSE and quality standards, coordinate safety drills, equipment inspections and housekeeping audits, and oversee security and loss prevention.
• Supervise warehouse supervisors, operators and support staff, plan manpower schedules and training, and monitor performance and discipline.
• Act as the main point of contact for client warehouse matters, communicate stock positions, processing progress and dispatch schedules, and submit periodic operational and compliance reports.
• Drive process optimisation, automation and lean logistics best practices.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• At least 3 years' experience in supply chain or a related field.
• Experience in an SEZ is an added advantage.
