Warehouse Officer / Storekeeper

About the role

Johari Solutions is recruiting a Warehouse Officer / Storekeeper for a detergents manufacturing plant in Nairobi. The role involves managing receipt, storage, issuance and control of raw materials, packaging, chemicals, spares and finished goods to ensure accurate inventory and smooth production flow.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and record incoming materials, verifying against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Issue raw materials and packaging to production based on approved requisitions.
• Maintain bin cards and ERP/WMS records, conduct regular stock counts and investigate variances.
• Organise storage, apply FIFO/FEFO principles and ensure safe handling of hazardous chemicals.
• Prepare and maintain GRNs, SIVs, delivery notes and inventory reports.
• Keep the warehouse clean, safe and compliant with MSDS/SDS requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Stores Management, Supply Chain or related field.
• At least 8 years total experience, with minimum 3 years in warehouse/stores operations in FMCG or manufacturing.
• Experience in detergents or chemicals manufacturing is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, honesty and safety‑conscious attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/WMS or computerized inventory systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO inventory practices.
• Understanding of chemical storage, handling and workplace safety.
