Zonal Business Manager – Coastal Zone

About the role

The Zonal Business Manager will lead sales, collections and overall business operations for Sun King's EasyBuy solar products across the Coastal Zone of Kenya. Reporting to the Country Business Leader, you will manage a large field network to drive affordable off‑grid energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, retain and motivate a zonal team including Regional and Area Business Managers, Store Executives and Field Sales Executives.
• Provide training on sales, collections, product knowledge, inventory and logistics.
• Conduct joint fieldwork and weekly training sessions with field agents.
• Meet or exceed monthly sales and collection targets and report progress to senior leadership.
• Drive robust field sales processes, including daily review of performance, customer profiling and timely collections.
• Resolve customer issues within 24 hours, covering delivery, installation, payments and warranty.
• Control marketing and operational spend to maximise ROI.
• Monitor team performance through regular meetings, surprise visits and recognition of top performers.

Required profile

• Degree in a business‑related field; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 6 years sales experience, with at least 3 years in senior management.
• Background in distribution, micro‑finance, banking or bottom‑of‑pyramid markets.
• Passion for serving rural, off‑grid consumers and commitment to Sun King's social mission.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage large field teams.
