About the role
The Nairobi Safari Club is seeking a diligent Accounts Payable Officer to manage the hotel’s financial transactions and vendor relationships. You will work closely with multiple departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of payments in a fast‑paced, 4‑5 star environment.
Key responsibilities
- Bank all hotel income (cash, currency, cheques) daily.
- Answer vendor inquiries, reconcile weekly/monthly statements, and resolve disputes.
- Prepare month‑end reconciliations and generate creditors’ ageing and other financial reports.
- Process weekly cheque payments, obtain authorisations, and maintain filing systems.
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate terms and ensure timely payments.
- Assist with audits, reconcile accounts, and post daily banking entries in SunSystems.
- Maintain pre‑payment account reconciliations in SunSystems.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- At least CPA Part II qualification.
- Minimum 3 years experience as an Accounts Payable Officer in a 4‑5 star hotel, preferably an international brand.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
