About the role
Join Save the Children in Nairobi as an Administration Intern, supporting the Administration Officer in day‑to‑day operational tasks. This role offers hands‑on experience in office administration within a leading humanitarian organization.
Key responsibilities
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and issue stationery and consumables.
- Monitor inventory levels, reconcile physical stock with bin cards, and conduct regular inventory checks.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, recording deliveries, and tracking parcels.
- Maintain and update trackers and reports using Excel.
- Assist with invitation letters, payment processing, and ad‑hoc administrative tasks.
- Support store management, applying FIFO principles and ensuring stock stays above reorder levels.
- Contribute to event management, including booking venues, accommodation, catering, and processing related payments.
- Gain exposure to General Programme Equipment (GPE) management, cost‑benefit tracking, and travel management processes.
- Provide front‑office support and uphold child safeguarding obligations.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant programme (e.g., Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Good organizational skills and willingness to learn administrative processes.
- Commitment to child safeguarding and the values of Save the Children.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
