Area Sales Manager – Laboratory Products (East Africa)

About the role

The Area Sales Manager will lead revenue growth for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Laboratory Products and Chemicals portfolio across East Africa. You will build strategic customer relationships, expand market share and identify new business opportunities in a diverse set of markets including healthcare, research, government and industry.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute territory growth strategies aligned with regional objectives.
• Drive revenue, bookings and pipeline growth for assigned product lines.
• Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities while increasing market share.
• Build and maintain relationships with key customers, channel partners, government institutions, NGOs and research organisations.
• Collaborate across divisions to deliver integrated Thermo Fisher solutions.
• Create and implement strategic account and territory plans for long‑term growth.
• Utilise CRM and AI‑enabled commercial tools to improve forecasting and sales effectiveness.
• Support channel partner development through business reviews and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and commercial governance.

Required profile

• Proven success in business development, sales or commercial leadership within life sciences, laboratory, diagnostics, healthcare or related sectors.
• Track record of exceeding revenue targets and delivering profitable growth.
• Experience managing complex sales cycles and multi‑stakeholder engagements across multiple East African countries.
• Strong relationship‑building, negotiation and communication abilities.
• High personal accountability, resilience and customer focus.
