About the role
Join Baker Hughes' regional Drilling Services Team as an Assistant Wellsite Drilling Fluids Engineer. You will work on‑site with drilling crews to optimise fluid performance, support cost‑effective operations and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Measure, test and supervise fluid mixing and pumping operations on wellsites.
- Perform technical analysis of fluid properties and provide recommendations for adjustments.
- Collaborate with drilling teams, sales representatives and entry‑level engineers.
- Make sales calls or accompany sales staff to promote fluid solutions.
- Train and direct the work of junior engineers.
- Conduct all activities in line with Baker Hughes HSE policies, legal and compliance requirements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with drilling fluids products and services.
- Proven ability to select appropriate products for simple to complex applications.
- Strong communication, presentation and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel to rig sites, customer facilities and training events.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of drilling fluids and mud engineering.
- Fluid testing, mixing and pumping expertise.
- Understanding of HSE compliance for field operations.
