Business Relationship Officer (Credit Officer)

About the role

The Business Relationship Officer (Credit Officer) will drive the marketing, acquisition and management of credit solutions for micro‑businesses across Nairobi, Mt Kenya counties and the Nakuru region. This role combines sales, risk assessment and portfolio stewardship within a fast‑growing, impact‑focused lender.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and sell credit products to prospective customers.
• Recruit new clients and conduct thorough loan appraisals.
• Monitor loan repayments and maintain a high‑quality loan book.
• Manage risk by ensuring portfolio quality and strong customer retention.
• Prepare and submit monthly performance reports.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Banking, Co‑op Management, Entrepreneurship or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in micro‑business or log‑book lending.
• Proven sales, marketing and portfolio management experience.
• Strong communication, customer handling and integrity.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
