Chief Commercial Officer – East Africa Cluster

About the role

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for the East Africa Cluster will define and execute the commercial growth strategy across Kenya, South Sudan and Uganda, aligning with CMA CGM Group’s overall objectives. Reporting functionally to the Africa Region CCO and administratively to the Cluster Managing Director, the role is based in Nairobi and involves regular travel throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a multi‑year commercial roadmap to drive market‑share and profitable volume growth.
• Lead customer acquisition, account penetration and contract optimisation across all trade lanes.
• Identify emerging trade opportunities, logistics corridors and industry verticals, and forge strategic partnerships.
• Expand inland logistics, multimodal and integrated supply‑chain solutions.
• Champion a customer‑centric culture, improving satisfaction and retention.
• Utilise commercial analytics, business intelligence and market data to enhance sales effectiveness and forecasting.
• Promote adoption of CMA CGM’s commercial tools, dashboards and reporting platforms.
• Maximise cross‑selling of Group solutions such as CEVA Logistics, value‑added services and integrated logistics offerings.

Required profile

• Proven senior commercial leadership experience in logistics, shipping or related sectors.
• Strong track record of delivering profitable growth and market‑share expansion.
• Excellent stakeholder management with strategic customers and industry bodies.
• Ability to lead transformation initiatives using data‑driven decision making.
• Willingness to travel regularly across the East Africa region.
