Debt Recovery Manager – Nairobi and Coast Regions

About the role

The Debt Recovery Manager will oversee and drive the collection activities for the company’s portfolio in Nairobi and the coastal regions of Kenya. Reporting to senior management, the role combines team leadership with the development of technology‑enabled recovery strategies to meet aggressive recovery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and supervise debt recovery teams operating in Nairobi and the Coast.
• Set and monitor collection targets, ensuring timely recovery of delinquent accounts.
• Design and implement technology‑driven processes for tracing, tracking and recovering debts.
• Analyse performance data, prepare regular recovery reports and recommend process improvements.
• Engage with clients, financial institutions and other stakeholders to facilitate repayment arrangements.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of experience in debt collection, micro‑finance or banking.
• Minimum 3 years of proven management and team‑leadership experience.
• Degree in Microfinance, Banking, Finance or a related field.
• Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding collection targets.
• Age between 35 and 45 years.
