English and Literature Teacher

About the role

Makini Schools seeks a dedicated English and Literature Teacher to actively encourage and facilitate the moral and academic development of each student, ensuring continuous improvement and quality education.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the school ethos in line with directives from the Directors and Principal.
• Teach a class of students, ensuring planning, preparation, assessment and reporting meet diverse learning and social needs.
• Contribute to constructive team‑building among teaching and non‑teaching staff, parents and the Directors.
• Ensure that agreed conditions of employment for school teachers are met.
• Implement school policies and guidelines in consultation with the Principal.
• Support initiatives decided by the Principal and other staff.
• Plan appropriately to meet the needs of all students through differentiation of tasks.
• Set clear learning targets based on prior attainment for each student.
• Provide a stimulating classroom environment where resources are accessed appropriately by all students.
• Maintain accurate and efficient records of student progress and classroom activities.
