Finance & Grants Specialist – Kenya (SGGA)

About the role

The Finance & Grants Specialist will support the Scaling Graduation with Governments in Africa (SGGA) programme, a 10‑year partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance & Grants, the role ensures accurate grant reporting, compliance, budgeting and financial oversight across ten country offices.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile program accounts (foreign‑currency and local‑currency) for each of the ten countries and consolidate donor reports.
• Monitor grant expenditures, verify supporting documentation and ensure compliance with donor agreements.
• Review and consolidate country budgets, conduct variance analysis and support corrective actions.
• Coordinate with finance teams, the Central SGGA Programme Management Team and the Africa Graduation Platform to align financial management with programme priorities.
• Maintain a complete, audit‑ready Grants Management File and ensure systematic archiving of all financial records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in grant management, financial reporting and audit support.
