Finance Manager – East Africa (Nairobi)

About the role

The Finance Manager will oversee financial management across East Africa for Médecins Sans Frontières, based in Nairobi. The role involves preparing budgets, financial reports, monitoring expenditures and ensuring compliance with MSF policies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial management across East Africa, preparing budgets, financial reports and monitoring project expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with MSF policies, donor requirements and support internal and external audits.
• Manage cash flow, monthly and annual closures, and the international combination process with the International Office.
• Coordinate hosting sections, authorize advances, per diems and procurements, and produce monthly hosting reports.
• Validate invoices, purchase orders and oversee salary reconciliations and payroll validation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum five years of financial management experience, preferably in the non‑profit or international sector.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French and a third language is an advantage.
• Demonstrated leadership, cross‑cultural awareness and commitment to MSF principles.
