Freelance Consultant – Safety, Health, Risk & Compliance

About the role

Ideal Workplace Solutions is building a pan‑African network of independent consultants who provide safety, health, risk and compliance services to organisations across the continent. As a freelance consultant you will be engaged on a project‑by‑project basis to deliver assessments, training and advisory support in your area of expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct workplace assessments, audits, inspections and risk reviews for client organisations.
• Identify hazards, compliance gaps and improvement opportunities and produce detailed reports.
• Develop or update policies, procedures, SOPs and management systems aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Design and deliver training programmes and capacity‑building workshops.
• Support incident investigations, corrective‑action planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification and recognised professional certification in the chosen specialization (e.g., HSE, Quality, Compliance).
• Minimum five years of professional experience in safety, health, risk, compliance or related consultancy.
• Demonstrated experience delivering consultancy, audit or training assignments independently.
• Strong analytical, facilitation and report‑writing abilities.
