General Manager – Enterprise Clubs & Strategic Growth Networks

About the role

The General Manager will lead Equity Bank Kenya’s Enterprise Clubs and Strategic Growth Networks, driving the implementation of the Enterprise Development & Financial Inclusion pillar and supporting Kenya’s inclusive growth agenda.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and deliver the Enterprise Clubs strategy aligned with the broader ED&FI pillar, the Africa Recovery & Resilience Plan and the Group’s inclusive growth agenda.
  • Lead mentorship‑driven, peer‑based enterprise learning models and ensure high‑quality experiences for participating enterprises.
  • Oversee executive‑level capability development, including leadership forums, advanced training and retreats.
  • Strengthen enterprise ecosystems through market linkages, value‑chain integration and partnerships with corporates, financial institutions and sector actors.
  • Develop finance and investment readiness pathways, strategic finance mechanisms and capital‑access programmes for High‑Value Enterprises (HVEs).
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, partnership development and resource mobilisation to secure strategic, technical and financial support.
  • Identify and manage funding opportunities from internal and external partners to support program growth and sustainability.
  • Manage work planning, budgeting and resource allocation for high‑value enterprise programmes.
  • Oversee hybrid programme delivery, integrating in‑person, digital and membership‑based models.
  • Build and coach a high‑performing HVE & Business Leadership team.
  • Ensure regular performance reporting, success‑story documentation and impact communication.
  • Coordinate with M&E to track outcomes, strengthen learning and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

  • Strong leadership and strategic planning expertise with excellent communication skills.
  • Extensive experience in program management and evaluation of Enterprise Development & Financial Inclusion initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise development, high‑value enterprise growth, business clubs and leadership programming.
  • Proven track record in investment readiness, capital mobilisation and strategic finance models.
  • Understanding of MSME/SME ecosystems, value‑chains, supply‑chain dynamics and corporate partnership development.
