Global Privacy Counsel

About the role

Emerald Clinical Trials, a global leader in clinical research partnering with biotech and pharmaceutical companies, is seeking a Global Privacy Counsel to lead and develop its worldwide privacy function across Asia‑Pacific, Europe and the United States. Reporting to the Group General Counsel, the role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on execution in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment, supporting the company’s purpose‑driven work to improve lives through clinical trials.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, maintain and continuously enhance Emerald’s global privacy programme.
• Support international clinical trial operations while embedding a strong culture of data protection and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Legal, Clinical Operations, IT, HR, Quality and commercial teams as a trusted advisor on privacy and data‑protection matters.
• Provide guidance across multiple jurisdictions, managing complexity and ensuring alignment with local and global privacy laws.

Required profile

• Experienced privacy professional comfortable working independently across APAC, Europe and the United States.
• Proven ability to balance legal rigor with practical, business‑focused solutions.
• Strong communication skills to advise senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
