Graduate Trainee – Food Production

About the role

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company in Nairobi, is looking for a Graduate Trainee to join the Production Department. This entry‑level position offers recent graduates hands‑on experience in food production, technical skill development and mentorship from seasoned professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily food production operations ensuring efficiency and safety.
• Learn and apply company production procedures, quality standards and food safety requirements.
• Assist in monitoring production processes and report any quality or operational issues.
• Collaborate with production, quality assurance and maintenance teams to meet operational targets.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity and reduce waste.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Complete assigned projects and training programs within set timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology or Analytical Chemistry.
• Minimum Second Class Honours (Upper or Lower); First Class Honours advantageous.
• At least one year of post‑graduation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP or Food Safety Management Systems is a plus.
