Investment Officer – Debt Investments in MFIs (Francophone Africa)

About the role

Triple Jump is seeking an Investment Officer to support the identification, appraisal, processing and supervision of debt investments in micro‑finance institutions (MFIs) across the Africa and Middle‑East region. Based in Nairobi, the role contributes to the full investment cycle—from origination to ongoing monitoring—and requires building a strong regional network of partners and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential debt investment opportunities in MFIs.
• Conduct detailed financial statement and ratio analysis to assess creditworthiness.
• Perform institutional assessments covering governance, risk management and other non‑financial factors.
• Prepare investment memoranda and support the approval process.
• Monitor portfolio performance and report on investment outcomes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with partners, borrowers and other relevant institutions.
• Travel frequently within Francophone Africa, averaging about one week per month.

Required profile

• Economic or finance‑oriented education.
• Considerable experience in an asset‑management firm, rating agency, development bank or commercial bank.
• Proven ability to analyse financial statements, financial ratios and conduct institutional assessments.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout the region.
