Locum Nurse – Clinical Services & Patient Care

About the role

Penda Health is seeking a dedicated Locum Nurse to deliver high‑quality clinical services across its medical centres in Kenya. You will play a pivotal role in patient triage, emergency management, and maternal‑child health and family planning services while upholding the organisation’s standards of compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, triage, and administer IV or IM medications following best nursing practices.
• Maintain a well‑stocked, clean, and sterile environment ready for both routine and emergency cases.
• Champion Infection Prevention and Control by applying Penda’s IPC protocols.
• Record patient data accurately in real‑time using Penda’s electronic medical record system and complete Ministry of Health reporting.
• Provide patient education and ensure an excellent patient experience.

Required profile

• Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN) with a valid practising licence from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy healthcare facility, preferably with MCH/FP exposure.
• Valid BLS certification (mandatory) and ACLS certification (advantageous).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the nursing officer and branch manager.
