Maintenance Technician – Production (Plant & Equipment Workshop)

About the role

Kenya Airways is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work in its plant and equipment workshop. The role involves inspecting, repairing, modifying, overhauling and testing aircraft support equipment and tools to ensure continuous availability for internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspection, repair, modification, replacement and overhaul of all aircraft support equipment, machinery and tooling.
• Execute service bulletins and OEM‑specified fabrications for equipment, tools and part‑spares.
• Maintain accurate documentation and component history for all work performed.
• Ensure zero fault/failure rate on equipment released after maintenance.
• Adhere to safety, health, environment and security policies, including 5S audits and incident reporting.

Required profile

• Completed a recognized apprenticeship or a KNEC Engineering Diploma (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of component maintenance experience or 2 years in an apprenticeship program.
• Demonstrated competence in at least one craft skill such as welding, fabrication, carpentry or electrical wiring.
• Good computer literacy and ability to interpret maintenance data and material specifications (MSDS).
