Part‑time English & Maths Tutor (Cambridge IGCSE)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated part‑time tutor to provide English and Mathematics instruction to Year 1 and Year 2 learners following the Cambridge IGCSE / Cambridge Primary curriculum. The role is home‑based, offering a supportive environment for early learners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver structured English and Mathematics lessons aligned to the Cambridge curriculum.
• Conduct two 2‑hour teaching shifts per day (morning and mid‑afternoon).
• Assess each learner’s starting level and track progress against Key Stage 1/2 outcomes.
• Use age‑appropriate methods, including phonics‑based reading instruction and hands‑on numeracy activities.
• Prepare simple progress reports for parents on a regular basis.
• Maintain a safe, engaging, and disciplined learning environment.
• Communicate professionally with parents/guardians regarding scheduling, progress, and concerns.
• Bring and prepare own teaching materials, worksheets, and resources as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of teaching experience with early‑year learners.
• Familiarity with Cambridge IGCSE / Cambridge Primary curriculum.
• Ability to create lesson plans tailored to short teaching shifts.
• Strong communication skills with parents/guardians.

• Knowledge of Cambridge IGCSE / Cambridge Primary curriculum.

What we offer

• Monthly salary between KES 15,000 and KES 30,000.
