Ramp Safety Officer – Inflight / Airside Operations

About the role
We are seeking a proactive, safety‑conscious Ramp Safety Officer to ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance in inflight and airside operations. The role supports smooth, efficient and incident‑free ramp activities in line with company, airline, airport and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct routine airside/ramp safety inspections, observations and audits, identifying unsafe acts, conditions and hazards.
- Monitor compliance with airside safety procedures, airport regulations, company policies and customer requirements.
- Support investigation of accidents, incidents and near‑misses, gathering evidence and following up corrective actions.
- Monitor Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for safety‑related defects and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, five‑minute trainings and other safety awareness initiatives.
- Verify validity of airside permits, driving licences, certifications and operational qualifications.
- Maintain accurate safety records, registers, inspection reports and compliance documentation.
- Analyze safety data, identify trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Assist with emergency preparedness and business continuity measures.
- Collaborate with operations, safety, security, engineering/maintenance, airport stakeholders and airline representatives on safety matters.
Required profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Aviation Safety, Airport Operations, Risk Management or related field.
- Relevant professional certification in Health & Safety or Aviation Safety is an advantage.
- Previous experience in aviation, airport, airside operations or ground handling safety environments.
- Strong understanding of airside safety requirements, GSE operations, ramp hazards and aviation safety practices.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, incident reporting/investigations and risk assessments.
- Ability to work shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends and public holidays as required.
Required skills
- Good computer skills for maintaining and analysing safety records.
