Research Manager – Futurist

About the role

The Research Manager – Futurist will work within the Strategic Foresights and Market Intelligence department to anticipate and shape future market dynamics. Reporting directly to the Head of Department, the role focuses on turning emerging trends into actionable business strategies. The position is based in Westlands, Kenya, and will play a pivotal role in ensuring the company stays ahead of industry disruptions. The role requires a forward‑thinking mindset and the capacity to translate complex data into clear strategic guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse future market, customer, technological, competitive and societal shifts.
• Translate identified trends into strategic business opportunities, growth pathways, risk mitigation actions and innovation priorities.
• Combine strategic foresight, futures forecasting, predictive analytics, market intelligence and customer insights to guide decision‑making.
• Support the organization in preparing for and influencing future markets rather than merely reacting to them.

Required profile

• Experience in strategic foresight, market intelligence or related research functions.
• Ability to anticipate and interpret complex future trends.
• Strong analytical mindset to convert insights into strategic recommendations.
• Reporting to and collaborating with senior leadership in the Strategic Foresights department.
