Retail Sales Representative – FMCG Cleaning Chemicals

About the role

The Retail Sales Representative will drive growth of our cleaning‑chemical and hygiene product portfolio across Nairobi’s retail and hardware channels. You will be responsible for acquiring new customers, nurturing existing relationships, and meeting sales targets in a fast‑moving FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new retail customers within the assigned territory.
• Promote the product range to retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and hardware stores.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets through effective territory management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, conducting regular visits to assess product performance.
• Monitor product availability and visibility at customer outlets and recommend optimal merchandising.
• Prepare quotations, process orders, follow up deliveries and support timely collection of payments.
• Produce sales reports, customer visit reports and sales forecasts.
• Gather market intelligence on competitor activities and share insights with management.

Required profile

• Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum three years of sales experience in the FMCG sector, preferably in detergents, cleaning chemicals or hygiene products.
• Proven experience selling to hardware stores and retail outlets.
• Strong negotiation and customer‑relationship management abilities.
• Good understanding of retail sales operations and territory management.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
