About the role

Optoma, the #1 DLP brand in EMEA, is launching its first direct sales operation in East Africa. As the Sales Account Manager you will build distributor relationships, win direct accounts and execute a structured sales plan to generate revenue from day one.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory sales plan for projectors, IFPs and displays across East Africa.
  • Identify, appoint and onboard new authorised distributors in Kenya from scratch.
  • Expand the reseller network into Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
  • Win B2B accounts in education, corporate, government and NGO/international organisation sectors.
  • Engage early in procurement cycles to ensure Optoma is specified in tenders and RFPs.
  • Organise product demos, training events and workshops for distributors and end‑users.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasts and reporting.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly revenue targets and sell‑through milestones.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and report market trends to the Territory Manager META.

Required profile

  • Experience in B2B sales within IT, AV or display technology.
  • Proven track record in projector or IFP product sales (preferred).
  • Direct experience working with East African dealer/distribution channels.
  • Knowledge of the East African education market and government procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a channel network from scratch.
  • Existing AV distributor or reseller relationships in Kenya are a strong advantage.
  • Results‑driven with a consistent record of meeting and exceeding targets.
  • Fluent in English; Swahili is a strong advantage.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and reporting remotely to the Territory Manager META.
  • Experience in greenfield or cold‑start sales territories is a plus.
