Senior Officer – Trade Finance & Treasury Operations

About the role

The Senior Officer – Trade Finance & Treasury Operations is responsible for accurate and timely processing, verification, settlement and reconciliation of treasury, trade and payment transactions. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, bank policies and operational controls while supporting internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Process vouchers, book inter‑bank and client foreign‑exchange transactions, and prepare SWIFT messages for funds transfers and deal confirmations.
• Maintain daily foreign‑exchange rates, perform NOSTRO account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
• Review trade documentation for completeness, release trade transaction documents, and manage correspondence with customers.
• Process incoming payments, outgoing RTGS/TT transfers and SWIFT payments, ensuring adherence to service level agreements.
• Investigate and resolve queries from banks and customers, including non‑receipt of transfers and default/penalty claims.
• Prepare and submit departmental, regulatory and management reports within required timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Business Administration or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in trade finance and/or treasury operations within a commercial bank or financial institution.
• Demonstrated experience handling foreign‑exchange, payments, settlements, trade documentation and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with banking systems, transaction‑processing platforms and financial reporting systems.
