Store Manager – Hypermarket (Kenya)

About the role

The Store Manager will lead a hypermarket in Kenya, ensuring flawless daily operations while driving sales, profitability, and an exceptional customer experience. You will be responsible for building a high‑performing team, maintaining safety standards, and delivering sustainable business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales performance and manage accurate transaction processes.
• Plan workforce levels to serve customers efficiently and manage store traffic.
• Develop and coach teams through continuous training and capability building.
• Promote a safe, engaged, and high‑performing work environment, focusing on health & safety and talent retention.
• Strengthen customer relationships, improve NPS, and ensure customer safety.
• Execute in‑store service initiatives, including marketing, digital operations, and customer experience programs.
• Oversee retail operations: stock, shrinkage, waste, promotions, order fulfillment, omnichannel activities, store maintenance, sustainability, and cost control to support EBITDA growth.
• Make data‑driven commercial decisions, stay aware of market trends, and manage time effectively.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce, Marketing or related field (preferred).
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities; capable of coaching, motivating, and retaining high‑performing teams.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer experience.
• Solid commercial and operational knowledge of sales growth, inventory management, merchandising, shrinkage control, and omnichannel retail.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
