Theatre Nurse – Perioperative Care in Nairobi

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Theatre Nurse to join our peri‑operative team in Nairobi. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient and high‑quality surgical care.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare operating theatres and ensure all equipment is sterilised and ready for procedures.
• Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during operations by providing instruments and maintaining aseptic technique.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs before, during and after surgery.
• Provide pre‑operative and post‑operative nursing care, including patient education and counselling.
• Deliver scrub, circulating and recovery nursing support across a range of surgical specialties.
• Maintain strict infection‑control standards and accurate documentation of surgical procedures.
• Handle specimens safely and ensure proper documentation for laboratory analysis.
• Support emergency surgical interventions when required.

Required profile

• Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) or Higher Diploma in Peri‑operative Nursing.
• Licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• At least 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an operating theatre setting.
