Solar Inverter Activation and Audit Officer (Internship)
sunking · Nairobi
Job description
About the role
Sun King is looking for an intern to join its Nairobi office as a Solar Inverter Activation and Audit Officer. The role coordinates and oversees the end-to-end execution of inverter activations, ensuring timely implementation, effective vendor coordination and accurate inventory and dispatch processes. It involves monitoring activation requests, helping vendors set up and troubleshoot, running warehouse and dispatch audits, and keeping accurate documentation and reports.
Key responsibilities
- Track every inverter activation request from initiation to completion, hold timelines against plan, escalate delays early and act as the main contact between internal teams and field or vendor partners.
- Assist vendors with on-site and remote setup, resolve basic setup issues, escalate technical problems and confirm vendors have the access, tools and information they need.
- Run the warehouse activation audit: verify that inverter units and accessories match approved requests, check stock accuracy and flag missing units, wrong models or damaged stock to the warehouse team.
- Run the dispatch audit: confirm dispatched items match the intended delivery or activation location, cross-check dispatch records against the activation schedule and report dispatch errors or delays.
- Follow up with vendors for activation reports and confirmations, and keep organized, audit-ready records of activation status, vendor reports and audit findings.
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers, stock records and dispatch data.
- Able to track multiple vendor relationships and activation schedules at once without losing accuracy.
- Clear written communication for structured reporting and escalation.
- Comfortable working directly with field, vendor and warehouse teams, not just from a desk.
- Sound judgment on when and how to escalate a problem before it becomes a delay.
- Organized and consistent under a recurring operational cadence.
Required skills
- Familiarity with spreadsheets for tracking and audit work is required.
- Prior exposure to inventory, stock or dispatch systems is an advantage but not mandatory.
What we offer
- Professional growth in a dynamic, rapidly expanding, high-social-impact industry.
- An open-minded, collaborative and multicultural environment.
- Structured, tailored learning and development programs through the Sun Centre for Leadership.
