Credit Group Manager – Institutional Credit Management

About the role

Citi’s Institutional Credit Management (ICM) is a first‑line business line that provides end‑to‑end credit underwriting, measurement and monitoring for wholesale credit across the enterprise. The Credit Group Manager leads a portfolio of institutional relationships, overseeing continuous monitoring, annual and quarterly reviews, and supporting ad‑hoc transactions. The role reports to the SSA Credit Group Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Execute underwriting responsibilities in line with global and regional strategies, adopting leading practices from origination to credit approval memos.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, due‑diligence, projection modelling, stress testing and risk rating reviews performed by junior resources.
• Review and approve Credit Approval Memo (CAM) packages and present them to senior approval forums.
• Partner with Front Office to structure and produce term sheets for new transactions.
• Facilitate relationships with key banking clients, risk partners, regulators, internal audit and control functions.
• Support ICM Underwriting on strategic initiatives and projects as required.

Required profile

• Senior credit approval authority with experience in large, complex underwritings, capital commitments and derivatives across multiple industries.
• Strong knowledge of global credit risk management standards and capital markets products.
• Ability to provide strategic insights, understand macro‑economic and regulatory issues, and discuss risk‑asset allocation with banking and product teams.
• Proven capability to navigate local market nuances, regulations and competitor practices.
• Track record of building and sustaining partnerships across business segments, geographies and risk functions.
• 10+ years of risk‑related credit experience in banking or financial institutions, with strong ethics, integrity and decision‑making under pressure.
