Finance Analyst – Disbursement & Portfolio Management

About the role

The Finance Analyst supports disbursement‑related activities for projects implemented by the World Bank Group in Kenya. Working closely with senior finance staff and regional teams, the analyst ensures smooth transaction processing, resolves borrower issues, and contributes to system enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Disbursement processing – act as country focal point, process transactions and liaise with clients to resolve issues.
• Project restructuring – prepare low‑risk Trust Fund projects and review restructuring packages.
• Portfolio management – monitor inactive Project Designated Accounts, document balances and arrange refunds.
• Capacity building – assess transaction and portfolio reviews, identify borrower constraints and train end‑users on online systems.
• Data stewardship & systems – support system enhancements, produce analytical reports, maintain Power BI dashboards and automate reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA) preferred.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience, preferably with financial institutions, accounting firms or Big Four.
• Advanced fluency in English and one additional language (Arabic, French, Russian, Portuguese or Spanish).
• Strong quantitative ability, knowledge of GAAP and internal controls, and capacity to work under tight deadlines.
