About the role
The University seeks a dedicated Lecturer in Counselling Psychology to join its academic team in Nairobi. This full‑time position involves teaching, research, and student mentorship at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Key responsibilities
- Teach and assess undergraduate and graduate courses in counselling psychology.
- Mentor and support students in their academic and career development.
- Participate in curriculum design and keep programmes current and market‑relevant.
- Contribute to programme assessment, reviews, and accreditation processes.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Conduct scholarly research in your area of expertise.
- Engage in university service, professional activities, and community outreach.
Required profile
- Earned Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD or equivalent) in Psychology.
- Prior teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
- Publications meeting the CUE Standards & Guidelines (2014).
- Registration with the Counselors and Psychologists Board of Kenya or equivalent professional body.
Required skills
- Exam preparation and grading.
- Educational quality control and assurance.
- Research planning.
- Curriculum development and teaching guideline creation.
