Senior Advocate – Litigation & Dispute Resolution (Legal Sector)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Advocate to lead complex litigation and dispute resolution matters for a leading law firm in Nairobi. The role combines high‑level advocacy, strategic client management, and mentorship of junior lawyers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on complex litigation and ADR matters, ensuring timely, high‑quality delivery.
• Support partners and principal associates in managing client matters, exercising independent judgment.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, delivering practical legal solutions.
• Lead, supervise, mentor, and coach junior associates, pupils and other team members.
• Represent clients before courts, tribunals, arbitral panels and other forums, crafting effective strategies.
• Identify business development opportunities, support pitches and contribute to revenue targets.
• Manage matters within agreed timelines and budgets, monitoring time, costs and billing.
• Uphold firm policies, professional standards, ethical requirements and risk‑management procedures.
• Stay current on legislative developments, case law and industry trends, sharing knowledge internally.

Required profile

• LLB degree from a recognized university.
• Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in a reputable law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Proven ability to independently manage complex legal matters.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervision experience.
• Strong communication, legal drafting and advocacy abilities.
• Excellent client relationship‑management capabilities.

Required skills

What we offer

• Monthly gross salary ranging from KES 200,000 to KES 270,000.
