5-Star Hotel Chef – Nairobi (Kilimani)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced chef to lead the kitchen of a high‑end safari lodge restaurant in Nairobi’s Kilimani district. The role involves managing daily operations, creating and updating menus, and delivering Western and Kenyan cuisine that meets five‑star hotel standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all kitchen activities, ensuring smooth workflow and high‑quality output.
• Prepare Western and local African dishes, develop seasonal menus and customise meals for private banquets and tourist groups.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, enforce food hygiene and safety regulations.
• Control food costs, manage inventory, and maintain accurate portioning.
• Coordinate with the front office for special events and ensure equipment is well‑maintained.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional culinary experience in a five‑star hotel environment.
• Certificate in Culinary Arts or Hotel Catering Management.
• Valid Kenya food‑handler health certificate.
• Strong leadership, communication and attention‑to‑detail skills.
