Academic Advisor, Assistant Professor

About the role

The Academic Advisor, Assistant Professor provides comprehensive advising services to students enrolled in the College of Engineering Technology. This full‑time faculty role supports students in planning their academic pathways, selecting courses, and navigating program requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review individual academic plans and course schedules for engineering technology students.
• Advise students on program changes, course selection, and degree progress.
• Meet with prospective students and families to present program information.
• Assist with summer orientation, registration, and respond to program inquiries.
• Maintain accurate student records and monitor progress toward degree completion.
• Provide outreach and support to students on academic probation.
• Identify and resolve curricular or scheduling issues that affect time‑to‑degree.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• At least one year of relevant experience, preferably in higher education.
• Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Full‑time availability for a 12‑month continuing appointment.
• Ability to work in an office environment (sitting, moving).
