Accountability & Compliance Investigations Specialist

About the role

MSF Eastern Africa is seeking an Accountability & Compliance Investigations Specialist to strengthen its accountability and transparency framework. The role will lead audits, compliance reviews and investigations to ensure that financial and operational processes meet internal standards, donor requirements and humanitarian principles.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct thematic and comprehensive accountability audits across MSF EA departments, focusing on community engagement, decision‑making and resource allocation.
• Perform proactive monitoring and compliance reviews of financial systems, procurement and program implementation.
• Investigate complex cases of non‑compliance, financial irregularities or misuse of resources, preparing detailed reports and recommendations.
• Collaborate with HR, Safeguarding, Finance, Programme Coordination and MSF Ubuntu teams to ensure coordinated responses.
• Contribute to organizational learning by documenting findings, sharing best practices and supporting the development of stronger accountability mechanisms.

Required profile

• Proven experience in audit, compliance or investigations within humanitarian, non‑profit or similar environments.
• Strong understanding of donor regulations, financial controls and transparency standards.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Audit methodology and compliance review techniques.
• Knowledge of financial systems and resource allocation processes.
• Familiarity with humanitarian accountability standards and SEAH safeguarding principles.
