Accountant – Finance & Compliance (Kisii, Kenya)

About the role

Hamo & Associates is seeking a qualified Accountant to manage finance processes across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Based in Kisii, the role involves overseeing accounting transactions, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all accounting transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare budget forecasts and timely financial statements.
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Reconcile accounts payable, receivable, and bank statements.
• Compute taxes, prepare tax returns, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity.
• Audit financial transactions and documents.
• Maintain data confidentiality and perform database backups as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• CPA(K) certification and ICPAK membership.
• Minimum 2 years audit experience and 5 years accounting experience in an accounting firm.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
